The Peddler's Safari Mixed Grill


This recipe showcases The Spice Peddler's African Safari rub, and is a delicious and simple recipe for a mixed grill with a Southern African twist! We stock both medium and hot versions of this braai rub to cater for both mild and hot chilli lovers.


1 large T-bone Steak

1 Rump Steak

1 Pork Fillet or 2 large pork chops

1 Whole Chicken (Butterflied)

1 Jar Spice Peddler's African Safari (Medium or Hot)

2 Large lemons (juiced)

30ml olive oil


Mix the contents of the African Safari spice blend, lemon and olive oil and rub generously over all the meat. Leave to marinade for at least 4 hours for maximum flavour.

Light the barbecue - charcoal barbecues give a smokier aroma and flavour, but gas barbecues work just as well.

Grill the meat until cooked, basting regularly with any remaining marinade.

Serve with salad, grilled vegetables, roast potatoes, rice or any sides of your choice.
