Fragrant Old World Butter


This recipe showcases Blade Mace and Nutmeg


80g lightly salted butter softened at room temperature
1 teaspoon ground mace
Good ½ tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
Teaspoon chopped capers
Juice of 1 lemon
Tablespoon freshly chopped parsley
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste.


Mix the butter with the all the other ingredients in a bowl.

Wrap in cling film and roll into a sausage shape and chill till ready to use.
Delicious with grilled or on warmed bread.
